Matt Comeau
Matt Comeau is a Mik’maq songwriter and recording artist from Elsipogtog First Nation
New Brunswick. Outstanding guitarist, with a warm soulful voice, paired with a luminous
and powerful stage presence as he shares songs that inspire unity and empowerment.
His music tells stories of loss and gain from the perspective of a contemporary first
nation’s man. Matt powerful vocals, energetic playing style and skilled musicianship
is known for edgy pop music that is refreshingly unique; influenced by the blues and
inspired by powerful songwriters such as Buffy St. Marie, Matt Mays, and Johnny Cash.
Professionally, Matt has been recording and performing since 2017 and is one Atlantic
Canada’s hottest musical exports. His’s song “Witness” became a hit on Sirius XMs’
Indigenous People’s Radio in 2017, since then Matt has been back in the studio
recording new material while playing shows across Atlantic Canada.
